Bum bum bedum

February 28, 2010

Heyyyyy people!  What’s up?  How’s your Sunday?  I’m super pumped right now…been listening to dance music  ALL DAY, which always gets me going!  Rihanna right now!  Disturbiaaaaaaaa!  … Uhhhh anyway.  I had an amazing Pilates class this morning with my studio’s brand new/NEWLY LICENSED instructor – my guru Spencer’s fiance Samantha has been studying to become an instructor and she just became certified.  She is 100% my inspiration in considering pursuing my certification, so I’m really excited to be studying under her now!

I wore this shirt to Pilates today:

To Haiti With Love: Hope Help Heal Haiti

CFDA Fashion for Haiti tshirt

I’m really devastated by the worldwide natural disasters that have been so frequent these days.  It’s so hard for me not to just say, screw it, get on a plane, and go volunteer.  I know I don’t have the luxury of doing that right now in my life – and yes, being able to afford to go volunteer in a disaster-ridden impoverished country is QUITE a luxury.  For now I have to be content with the few dollars I can donate here and there.  Please keep Chile and Haiti in your thoughts!

After Pilates I got in the RETAIL THERAPY mood.  I’ve had a tough week, which is why I’ve been MIA from the blog a bit, but nothing cheers me up like spending WAY TOO MUCH money at Victoria’s Secret (uhhh…since I can’t send it all to Haiti?? Ugh sometimes I need to think before I speak)

But look!  I got these pants!  I’m such a sucker for colored animal print (I also got a rainbow leopard print bra…not taking a picture of that).

And look, the pants match my new tshirt (hmmmmmm did I do that?)

Also bought some sweatpants, a few bras, and something for the boyfriend 😉  I am obsessed with VS Pink sweatpants – I love how they feel when they’re new and unwashed so I have a tendency to keep buying them to keep that feeling.  Whoops.

Today is my all-time favorite Jewish holiday, Purim!! I’ll be back later/tomorrow with a post about WHY this is my favorite holiday, but lets just say it includes getting drunk, sexual persuasion, costumes, and pastries!  I have no complaints.  We’re having a Purim dinner at my job later today, which is why I don’t have time to post about it now – gotta go get ready for work!

Oh, almost forgot: Great guesses on my Six Lies and a Truth, and I totally see and understand why you would guess what you did, but my one outrageous truth was that I sang backup for Diana Ross! Yes indeed, at the 2006 US Open, my choir sang backup for Diana Ross during the opening ceremonies!  I know I have the pictures somewhere, so as soon as I find them I’ll post them!  It was super cool.  I think my dad might have a video of it somewhere…  As for the rest, well, I have to admit I’ve never actually gone skiing, nor have I been to Switzerland or Italy.  Also, I did quite like Gilmore Girls but after my mom brought my grandma to parent/teacher conferences and my math teacher took to calling me Rory, I rather lost my obsession with it.  My favorite show growing up was none other than Boy Meets World.   Lol and no I definitely never owned a tarantula – my massive fear is of spiders, not lawnmowers!

Catch ya’ll later!  Hope you’re having sexy Sundays!

cute buys! i can never buy the VS sweatpants because they’re too short, or they shrink in the wash. bummer.

Love that shirt and its message! I would kill to go over an volunteer as well…it would be an amazing opportunity and beyond rewarding.

LOVE VS sweatpants/yoga pants as well. They are a staple in my at home/lounging wardrobe. You’re right, they’re so comfortable.

Never would have guessed that you sang backup! that’s crazy awesome!

    Enjoy your day,

SO COOL about diana ross! i didn’t realize you were a singer. love those pants! got really similar looking ones from lululemon yesterday and i snapped pics that i’ll post tonight haha. love the t-shirt, great cause. and don’t feel bad about not being able to go volunteer, i’ve heard from many sources that they actually would prefer people stay at home and just send $, they need the $ more than they need volunteers!

LOVE those pants! I need to splurge on some new workout gear, too…they make a matching bra?! I want! VS is a black hole, I go in there and come out two hours later with no money. BF never complains though, haha 🙂 Have a great week!

Cute pants. Look great on you. I hear ya about that ‘new pants feeling.’ Totally had the experience with my Lululemon pants recently. Love it!

Like you–I’m also considering getting my Pilates cert. Since I already teach Yoga, it would be a great compliment.

    Have a great week!
