Well, people, I am officially UNDER THE WEATHER. In the immediate future I am predicting a torrential downpour of:
With intermittent periods of:
And Hulu! I’m debating whether or not to brave the outdoors and obnoxiously bright sunshine to go buy some boxes of soup or something, but my house is well-stocked with food at the moment, so I feel superfluous buying boxed food when I’ve got tons of stuff I can make myself. I’m just lazy. But laziness is also preventing me from going to the store, so I guess no harm no foul.
Thanks for all your tips of beating off a cold! I haven’t given in to this little beast yet, but I’m failing fast. Chug chug chug that tea!!
I HAVE TO GET BETTER ASAP! My daddy’s 54th birthday is this weekend, and I made us surprise reservations at Spice Market. You know, I have to say I absolutely love how most restaurants display their menus on their websites. I know, totally common, totally normal, but I really appreciate it because it allows me to do my research. I don’t know about you but I have a big problem when it comes to making decisions, especially in restaurants, especially when presented with a menu full of tantalizing options. On the spot, I can get nervous, flustered, take a year to order, and then usually end up with something familiar and possibly boring. I like to scope out the scene ahead of time so I know what I’m getting myself into. This is especially helpful as a vegetarian – I can look at the menu before-hand and pick out the vegetarian options on the menu, and if there aren’t many, figure out how to finagle a full meal out of salads and side dishes. I’m really looking forward to their version of green papaya salad. Also I took a peep at the cocktail list and got beyond excited when I saw Singha Beer (Thailand!!!) topping the list. I don’t really drink in front of my dad, but Thai beer is a worthy exception.
I’m about to sign off, get in bed, and sleep for ALL of Shabbat, but before I go, let me throw some questions your way:
What are your favorite sick-day foods?
How do you choose what to eat in a restaurant?
How do you deal with internet creepers? I’m not talking about the creeps who anonymously comment on blogs or spam your inbox with porn. I’m talking about people from your past who contact you and then want to rekindle a relationship with you, but you’re not interested, and they keep persisting, to the point where it just gets creepy. This has happened to me two days in a row this week! I don’t know if it’s something about the weather or what, but these are people I used to have good relationships with in high school but for whatever reasons we fell out of communication and suddenly got back in touch with me, and they’ve both become very … odd, to say the least. I don’t want to be a bitch but I’m not interested in welcoming either of these people into my life either. One of them told me he thinks of me often, because I’m “the one that got away“!!! Creepy!! I mean, the obvious is just ignore their messages, but I feel like ignoring people on the internet is a lot less effective than ignoring them in real life.
Alrighty my lovelies, I’m going to end this disjointed post now and get back to my sniffling misery in private. I hope ya’ll have a great weekend! I’ll catch up with you soon!
